Applying Chess Organization Philosophy to MetroWest Chess Club

I have been active at MetroWest Chess Club since the early 90's. In the mid 90's I was recruited by the newly minted President Mark Kaprielian to help in rebuilding the Club.

The following article, published in the USCF Chess Life magazine, Oct 2003 issue, details the efforts of our Club to rebuild and enter a second golden age. The Club is currently thriving, averaging over 80 players every Tuesday weeknight, making this the largest chess club in New England.

This rebuilding effort followed the chess organization philosophy blogged below. This philosophy has elements of several mentors of mine, including Mark Kaprielian, President MetroWest Chess Club.
